Children are not the same as adults physically, intellectually or emotionally. And children’s urological issues differ greatly from those of adults. These conditions are often congenital and require reconstructive procedures. That is why experience is exceptionally important in pediatric urology.
Training
Pediatric urologic issues are so significantly different from those of adult patients that the American Board of Urology has created a Certificate of Added Qualification to designate urologists who have completed two or more years of additional surgical training in pediatric urology, and who treat exclusively pediatric patients. Urologic Consultants has the ONLY accredited pediatric urologists in West Michigan.
