Botox

Botulinum toxin or Botox can be given in small doses to the bladder muscle. Botox can paralyze the bladder muscle and prevent it from contracting too often. The treatment affects can wear off. Botox is reinjected every 3-10 months when symptoms start to return. We will follow you closely for side effects, such as not emptying the bladder or urinary tract infection after the procedure. An antibiotic is given around the time of the procedure to help reduce chance of urinary tract infection.
